Last night the birds were in the nest, but today the birds are gone.
Only one egg had hatched, and the little birdie was so cute! I guess
it flew away with its mama, since it is nowhere to be seen.
I feel happy and sad at the same time. I'll miss them.
The other eggs are still in the nest. I suppose they've been abandoned.
I'll wait a day or two before I take the wreath down, just to be sure!

Oh, I know exactly how you feel. We had several nests around various homes and just love spying on the little birdies. We had a Robin's nest last year off our back porch in the tree- Doves and Robins nests at Garabaldi street and at Queensbrook- a family of Racoons in a sad large Maple tree- they would venture out at 11pm nightly and I would spy on them with a flashlight- so much fun! I had to keep Lou the little dog inside during that period of time or accompany her for her "duty runs"
